The panel that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention started on June 25 its first meeting since Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. removed all members and named replacements.
Martin Kulldorff, an epidemiologist formerly with Harvard Medical School, and the new chair of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, said in opening remarks during the meeting in Atlanta that Kennedy 鈥渉as given this committee a clear mandate to use evidence-based medicine for making vaccine recommendations, and that is what we will do.鈥
