ExxonMobil Schools U14 Football
Two exhilarating encounters stole the spotlight yesterday as the second round of the ExxonMobil Under-14 Schools Football tournament unfolded at the Ministry of Education Ground on Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown. Despite grey skies and a late midday kickoff due to early rain, spirited fans turned out in large numbers to support the young talents in what turned out to be a thrilling day of football hosted by the Petra Organisation.
The match of the day came in the boys’ division, where St. John’s College launched a goal-scoring rampage against La Venture Secondary, thumping them 11–1. Robinho Abrams dazzled spectators with a hat trick (14’, 16’, 29’), while Dexter John and Josh Rai each netted twice. Their relentless attacking display left La Venture’s defence in tatters and firmly established St. John’s as early title contenders.
