ABUJA 鈥 The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has hailed the effort of the Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun on infrastructural development, especially recent road reconstruction projects.
Recall that the governor who is serving out his second term recently approved the 5.4 km Ogbeere 鈥 Orita Mobi Junction Road at Ijebu East Local Government, the 3.2 km Erinlu 鈥 Imosan Road in Odogbolu Local Government.
Abiodun also approved the 2.0 km Imodi 鈥 Imosan Road in Odogbolu Local Government.
The student body, in a statement by the Chairman, Ogun Joint Campus Committee, Gabriel Abiola Francis equally lauded the governor for giving approval for the procurement of ultra-modern security gadgets to strengthen the state鈥檚 security architecture and safeguard infrastructure across the state.
Francis described the governor鈥檚 approval as a giant stride in the incumbent administration鈥檚 infrastructural upliftment of the state.
He said the roads and the 11 others he previously approved for rehabilitation in all the three senatorial districts, will boost intra state transportation of commuters and farm produce.
Francis, who noted that the Governor Abiodun-led administration in the state has embarked on massive construction and reconstruction of roads since inception, added that Ogun has witnessed huge infrastructural transformation under the watch of the governor.
While further commending the governor for recording unprecedented feats in all sectors of the economy, particularly in education, the NANS chairman urged him not to rest on his oars, but forge ahead in making Ogun far better than he met it.
He specifically applauded Governor Abiodun for ensuring the continuation and completion of road projects abandoned by the immediate past administration in the state.
Francis, however, called on the governor who he referred to 鈥淢r Road鈥, to also consider roads leading to campuses of some tertiary institutions for rehabilitation, imploring him not to forget his promise to construct road leading to the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.
The NANS Chairman, however, declared that students in the state will continue to rally support for the governor in his administration鈥檚 efforts to take the state to an enviable height of socioeconomic development.
