LAGOS 鈥 The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) Plc has been presented with the 鈥2024 Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year Award鈥 by Transport Day Media.
A statement by Mr. Tayo Ajakaye, the Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communi-cations, NAHCO, said that the award, which was presented to the company last Thursday, was in recognition of its contribu-tions to the development of the Nigerian aviation sector and ex-cellent operating year 2024.
Mr. Frank Kintum, Editor-in鈥 Chief, Transport Day Media, the organiser of the event, com-mended NAHCO鈥檚 resilience, its strength and strong brand value.
Kintum stated that NAHCO is a company that the entire Nigeri-an aviation community should be proud of.
NAHCO said that the award came on the heels of other awards, which the company had received in the course of the year, including the 鈥楥hampion of the Industry Award鈥 conferred on it by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Au-thority (NCAA), and the 鈥楢viation Handling Company of the Year Award,鈥 given by the Air Trans-port Quarterly.
Apart from NAHCO, other key players in the Nigerian trans-portation sector were also rec-ognised for their contributions to sustainable development of the industry in the country.
Commenting on the award, Dr. Sola Obabori, the Group Ex-ecutive Director, Corporate Ser-vices, NAHCO Plc, said the com-pany was delighted to recognised by the organisers.
鈥淭his is well-deserved be-cause everyone in the aviation sector recognises the important role NAHCO plays in the indus-try,鈥 he said.
According to him, riding on the back of a successful operat-ing year, 2024, the company could only make real progress and add value to its shareholders in the current year.
He reiterated NAHCO鈥檚 con-tinuous commitment to sustain-able transportation initiatives through its implementation of technologies and procedures aimed at minimising idling time of ground vehicles, thereby sav-ing fuel and reducing emissions.
He said the award under-scored the hard work and ded-ication of its entire team in in-tegrating sustainability into its core operations.
