Morley Windmills confirms talks with Perth Glory consultant about future of Wotton Reserve

Morley Windmills have confirmed they are in talks about letting Perth Glory football club use their home ground at Wotton Reserve in Bayswater.

But they have warned they will not move without 鈥渁dequate support and compensation鈥.

A statement from the Morley Windmills Sports Club and Morley Windmills Soccer Club said they had been having preliminary discussion with a consultant acting on behalf of Perth Glory.

Speculation about the reserve鈥檚 future mounted this week when the city went behind closed doors on July 1 to discuss it.

鈥淲hile the full details of any potential changes to Wotton Reserve are not yet known, we have approached all conversations with a positive and open mindset,鈥 the clubs鈥 statement said.

鈥淥ur home at Wotton Reserve is more than a playing field. It is a community hub built on decades of hard work, tradition and passion for the game.鈥

However, the clubs said if they had to relocate, they would continue to advocate for meaningful consultation, fair treatment, and adequate support and compensation.

鈥淭his is not negotiable,鈥 the statement said.

鈥淓nsuring the longevity and sustainability of Morley Windmills will remain our top priority throughout this process.鈥

The clubs said they were looking forward to 鈥渙pen dialogue鈥 with the city, Perth Glory and other relevant stakeholders.

鈥淲e are committed to being part of a solution that supports existing clubs, respects their history and considers the best outcome for football in the region,鈥 they said.
