More trains from Cork laid on for hurling semi-final next Saturday

Seven extra train services have been provided for the Cork hurling fans ahead of the All Ireland Senior Hurling Semi Final against Dublin next Saturday July 5.

Iarnr贸d 脡ireann has confirmed that there will be four special trains for those travelling to Dublin on July 5th, and three extra trains returning home to Kent Station in Cork that night.

The times of these extra specials are Mallow to Dublin Heuston at 09:20am, along with Cork to Dublin Heuston at 10am, 11am and 12 noon.

For the return journey, there have been services added from Dublin Heuston to Cork at 8:15pm, 8.45pm and 9.35pm.

Fianna F谩il Cork County Councillor Patrick Mulcahy welcomed the addition of the extra train services for the big match in Croke Park next Saturday.

鈥淚 would like to personally thank the staff at Iarnr贸d 脡ireann for putting on these special trains for the Cork fans.

鈥淲ithout the Cork fans this year, the Munster Championship would have been nowhere as enjoyable to watch – all because of the atmosphere the Cork fans bring to these games.

鈥淚 am sure Saturday week will be very much similar as the Cork fans roll into the capital to take on Dublin in the semi-final”.

Meanwhile public transport including by bus is also expected to be in significant demand among the Rebel supporters heading to Dublin.

Speaking to The Echo, a spokesperson from Aircoach said:

鈥淒ue to high demand, we have already added multiple additional coaches in both directions of travel for the match. We are continuing to closely monitor capacity against demand.鈥

Also speaking to The Echo, a spokesperson for Bus 脡ireann added:

鈥淏us 脡ireann will operate regular scheduled services on Route 245X, Cork to Dublin on the 5 July, with no additional services planned.

鈥淲e would advise customers travelling to the game over the weekend to check buseireann.ie for any service updates or diversions ahead of travel.鈥
