ABUJA 鈥 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured residents of Kabu-sa, Ketti, and surrounding com-munities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that the commis-sioning of the newly constructed Kabusa-Ketti Road is not a one-off gesture, but the beginning of more development interventions that will reach underserved ar-eas across the country.
Speaking through Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, who represented him at the commis-sioning ceremony, the President said the 10-kilometre road proj-ect exemplifies the government鈥檚 commitment to inclusive and equitable infrastructure devel-opment.
鈥淟et me assure you that this is not the end of the road, but the beginning. More projects will come, investments will reach you, and attention will be given to your needs. Every Nigerian desires development, no matter where they live,鈥 Abbas declared.
He described the road as transformational, not only be-cause it eases movement but also because it directly impacts trade, education, healthcare ac-cess, and social connectivity in the area.
鈥淭oday鈥檚 event is not just a cel-ebration of a newly tarred road; It is a testament to what can be achieved when commitment to the people translates into tangi-ble, lasting change,鈥 Abbas said.
Commending FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for the quality and timely delivery of the road, the President noted that the project aligns with his Renewed Hope Agenda.
鈥淭his vital infrastructure connects communities, unlocks economic potential and affirms our administration鈥檚 dedication to ensuring no region is left be-hind,鈥 he stated. He added, 鈥淲e are determined to deliver good governance not just in theory but in action that reflects in the lives of our people.鈥
He also applauded the lead-ership of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) for its role in prioritising the project and ensuring it met the needs of residents.
To the benefiting communi-ties, Abbas offered a message of shared responsibility, 鈥淭his road is yours. I urge you to pro-tect it, use it responsibly, and take ownership of its maintenance. Government will do its part, but community stewardship is es-sential for sustainability.鈥
He concluded by urging all Nigerians to support ongoing ef-forts to bring development closer to the people.
鈥淟et this road stand as a sym-bol of partnership, perseverance, and the promise of a brighter fu-ture. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,鈥 he said.
The 10km Kabusa-Ketti Road is expected to improve connec-tivity between peri-urban and urban areas in the FCT, reduce travel time, enhance safety, and stimulate economic growth in the corridor.
Earlier, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said the Kabusa-Ketti Road is the first real government inter-vention in Ketti community, de-scribing it as a transformational milestone. Wike noted that the road, flagged off in December 2023, reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu鈥檚 commitment to inclusive infrastructure de-velopment across Abuja鈥檚 un-derserved areas.
