Meta is finding new ways everyday to sneak into the private life of the users. Latest in the row is that the Meta AI will be soon able to start conversations with the users without any prompt. What’s more is that the chatbot will also be able to remember what they talked about in the past and can even follow up later on the same. According to the tech giant, they are running tests for follow-up messaging with chatbots. Nonetheless, there are some conditions or limitations in place as well. For example, the chatbot will only initiate a conversation if you have interacted with it at least five times in the last 14 days. With this, the users will be able to hold meaningful conversations with the AIs. The approach by Meta came after multiple chatbots and applications jumped on the same trends. However, it is not a joyride to hop on which is why platforms like Character.AI are already facing lawsuits connected with its bot’s link to death of a teenager. Meta pretty cleverly dodged the situation by saying that the users should now trust AI with serious advice. Moving forward, some serious rail guards will be needed to ensure that the AI models are not free enough to deliver anything in the name of conversation.
