Met Police releases footage of arrests made using new facial recognition technology

The Metropolitan Police has released footage of arrests made using live facial recognition (LFR) technology.

This technology has successfully led to over 1,000 arrests across London.

Clips shared by the force on Friday show officers apprehending individuals, including one suspect arrested for theft.

LFR operates by capturing live footage of people and comparing their faces against a list of wanted offenders.
