JOURNALISTS from diverse media houses completed a one-day interactive training in Harare on Tuesday aimed at enhancing their reporting on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the education sector.
The initiative forms part of the 鈥淒igitalise Schools to Transform Education in Zimbabwe (DigSTEinZ)鈥 project, organised by the Education Coalition of Zimbabwe (ECOZI) in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
ECOZI projects officer Ms Mutsa Mvududu said the media plays a crucial role in shaping public understanding of ICT-driven education reforms.
鈥淓ffective media reporting on ICT in education requires journalists to have a clear understanding of the subject matter, policy frameworks and the profound impact of technology on learning,鈥 said Ms Mvududu.
ECOZI programmes manager Ms Wadzanayi Chitiga said the Government is finalising an ICT in education framework, with pilot projects already showing promising results.
She said schools are adopting various strategies, including using whiteboards and multiple teaching platforms to integrate ICT into learning.
鈥淭he DigSTEinZ project ensures all students have access to quality education regardless of background, leveraging digital platforms and blended learning,鈥 Ms Mvududu said.
