Marlins’ Dane Myers called out for throwing ‘bush league’ tantrum

Miami Marlins center fielder Dane Myers was called out on Thursday for throwing a tantrum following a strikeout.

Myers was batting with a runner on first and two outs in the top of the fifth inning against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Ca. He was facing a 0-2 count and struck out on a breaking ball away. Myers was so ticked off that he immediately broke his bat over his knee. He slammed his broken bat pieces to the ground and then chucked his helmet to the ground as well.

Giants announcer Mike Krukow was heard saying “bush” before the NBC Sports Bay Area telecast went to a commercial break.
