Manchester United's Jadon Sancho has already given Juventus the green light amid transfer links

Juventus are reportedly weighing up a move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. According to a report by Sky Italy, as cited by Sky Sports , the Serie A club is ‘expected to hold further talks’ with United via a video call today (Wednesday). United are actively looking to sell Sancho after Chelsea backed out of the deal to sign him permanently earlier this summer. The Londoners signed him on a season-long loan deal last summer and agreed to turn his temporary stay into a permanent one at the end of the campaign. However, the Stamford Bridge outfit paid a 拢5m penalty fee to pull out of the obligation to sign him on a full-time basis. He made 41 appearances for Enzo Maresca’s side, scoring five goals and registering ten assists. Sancho is one of three players United want to sell as a priority this summer alongside Marcus Rashford and Antony. It is believed Sancho is valued at somewhere between 拢20m and 拢25m. As reported by the Manchester Evening News last Friday, Sancho is prepared to move to Italy amid interest from fellow Serie A outfit Napoli. They are on the hunt for a winger this summer after selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain back in January. Despite their interest in the 25-year-old, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna, over the weekend, suggested Sancho’s wage demands are too high for them to make a realistic move for his services. Manna said: “Our offer is clear, we will not pay Sancho’s requested salary.” Sancho is understood to be on around 拢250,000-a-week at Old Trafford , meaning that could be a stumbling block for any interested party. He joined United on a five-year deal from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021. With just a year remaining on his contract, United are understandably keen to offload him permanently this summer to try and secure as high a fee as possible. Sancho’s willingness to move to Italy could boost their chances of getting him off the books amid interest from Juventus and Napoli. It remains to be seen if Juventus will require him to take a wage cut for them to be able to sign him.
