BREAKING: Mbeumo ‘happy to stay at Brentford’ if Man Utd deal not struck

Bryan Mbeumo is happy to stay at Brentford if a transfer deal is not struck with Man Utd.

That is according to Brentford’s director of football, Phil Giles, who told Sky Sports: “There is significant interest in Bryan. His current preference has been well publicised.

“He had an unbelievable season and we expected interest in him. From what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well.

“We’ve spoken to Bryan and his representatives. It’s not a given that he’s going to depart this summer.

“If we get the right offer, there is the potential for a deal to be done but there is only so much we can say now on that.”

While the move shines well on the 20-goal attacker for his professionalism, Man Utd chiefs may have secretly hoped he might push harder to force the issue.

Then again, with the Red Devils only 拢2.5m away from Brentford’s valuation in terms of pure value, a deal will surely be found soon which will satisfy all parties.

Man Utd’s last bid was 拢55m up front with another 拢7.5m in add-ons to take it to 拢62.5m overall. Brentford want 拢65m to sell their star man.
