Man says he used herbs to beat muscle disease

In 2014, Jermaine Jones said doctors gave him five days to live after he refused what was considered life-saving surgery.

But today, the 51-year-old says he is back to his normal self. He credits his restored health to a series of herbs that he said has rid him of his conditions. He is hoping that his story will inspire others faced with similar situations.

“I have nothing against the medical field and I always tell people to go to the doctor, but I had to rebuild myself with all the natural things that I was using. I was born again and it all boils down to one thing, and it is that you have to trust the process. You have to have a mental strength and I keep telling myself that the muscle is a memory,” he said.

“Natural products really work and I have proof. I have ran experiments on myself and it has helped me significantly.”

Jones, who owned his own catering business, said throughout his life, he has maintained a healthy lifestyle which includes regular workouts and proper dieting. But in October 2014, he started exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

“My body felt different and I had aches, so I went to a private doctor and she gave me an injection. At that time I think it was Chik-V that was in at that time. A day after I got the injection, I was unbalanced and then I couldn’t walk, and in the days ahead, I lost 20 pounds. The pain didn’t stop and I just started losing muscles. I couldn’t use my arms or anything,” he said. Jones said he visited a Corporate Area hospital and asked to be seen by neurologist.

“I couldn’t walk and my urine wasn’t coming down. Even my tongue started to get heavy so I wanted to see a neurologist as the brain was no longer sending signals to my body to function. There was no muscle movement to push on my bowels so I couldn’t even pass my waste. They wanted to cut me and I told them no. They were saying my intestines were too small but I know that it was okay because I was using it all my life. They started to tell me about intestinal cancer,” he said.

Sweating and in pain, he refused to take any treatment as he had not been diagnosed with anything.

“After I refused to let them go inside of me, I was told that I have five days to live. I just remember telling the doctor that he wasn’t God. It got to the point where I was wearing diapers,” Jones added.

He said he was finally allowed to see a neurologist and a physiotherapist who diagnosed him with myasthenia gravis, a chronic neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the voluntary muscles – those muscles that connect to a person’s bones. They contract to move the arms and legs and are essential for breathing, swallowing and facial movements. There is no known cure, however, Jones was adamant that he would beat the illness.

“During one of the sessions, the therapist was surprised when I told her I was going to sit up for an hour and a half and I did. My mindset was what boost me as I knew I had to go back to being my usual self. I got discharged from the hospital and I decided that when I was in the house, I was not going to use a walker. I had the mindset and although I didn’t put a time on when I am going to come back to my normal self, I knew I was going to,” Jones said.

Jones said after a few months, he decided not to take any more prescribed medicine and sought healing through herbal medicine. By October 2015, he said he was discharged from his physiotherapy sessions.

“I knew that it was mucus and toxins that were inside me that needed to be rid of. I started to get medina, turmeric, ginger, French thyme, sea moss and others. I did fasting also and every time I went back to the doctor, I was getting better. My muscles had started to get stronger. By March 2015, I decided I was going to get rid of the walker and I started to push my body. I could feel strength coming back in my legs. I prayed for mental strength and I got it. I worked out seven days a week. Currently I am doing really well and if I should show people my before and after photos they just wouldn’t believe,” he said.
