Kalaburagi: A shocking case of domestic violence unfolded in Hawalaga village, Afzalpur taluk, where a man allegedly murdered his wife and later tried to end his own life. The accused has been identified as Jagannath (42), a resident of Jewargi town.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Thursday morning at the couple’s rented home in Ghattaragi village, where they had been staying for the past six months. Jagannath is said to have fatally assaulted his wife during a heated altercation and then fled the scene.
Hours later, he was discovered near the SB Petrol Bunk in Hawalaga village with severe injuries to his throat, caused by an apparent suicide attempt using a blade. He was quickly shifted to Afzalpur Government Hospital, where he remains under treatment.
The Afzalpur police have registered a case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding both the alleged murder and the suicide attempt. Officials have also visited the crime scene to gather further evidence.
