M3GAN 2.0 Producer James Wan On Advent Of AI: Try Not To Be Frightened By It | EXCLUSIVE

Gerard Johnstone’ sci-fi horror film, M3GAN 2.0, is just two days from the film’s theatrical release. The film is a sequel to the 2022 film M3GAN. The second installment follows the story of a Model 3 generative android model being rebuilt to combat a humanoid military robot. In the film, the robot is built using M3GAN’s technology that attempts an AI takeover. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, producer James Wan opened up about the role of AI in creative storytelling. James Wan on advent of AI, its role in storytelling According to James, “The endless unknowns about A.I. create fertile soil for cinematic storytelling.” He believes that there’s been no faster technological explosion than what humans are witnessing with artificial intelligence (AI). “It is not even about decades anymore; it is happening in a matter of months. The pace of change is incredible, and it is already reshaping our daily lives. I try not to be too frightened by it, because there鈥檚 real potential for good. But as sci-fi horror has taught us repeatedly, stories about the rise of machines usually do not end well. On the other hand, the star cast includes Allison Williams, Amie Donald, Violet McGraw, Brian Jordan Alvarez, among several others. For the unversed, M3GAN 2.0 premiered in New York on June 24 and it will be released in the United States on June 27.
