Lionel Messi's First Reaction To Cristiano Ronaldo's Teammate Diogo Jota's Tragic Death

Portugal international and Liverpool forward Diogo Jota lost his life in a tragic car accident in Spain on July 3. The 28-year-old was involved in an accident on the A-52 highway in the Zamora region of northwest Spain, close to Palacios de Sanabria. He was apparently traveling with his brother, Andre Filipe, a 26-year-old professional football player, who also died in the accident. Lionel Messi posted a picture of Jota on his instagram story to pay tribute to the young player. Earlier, Portugal great Cristiano Ronaldo also expressed his disbelief and gried on the tragic death of his teammate Diogo Jota “It doesn’t make sense. We were just together with the national team, you had just gotten married. To your family, your wife and your children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. Rest in peace, Diogo and Andr. We will all miss you,” Ronaldo wrote in a deeply emotional social media post. The deadly tragedy happened just after midnight in northwest Spain, close to the city of Zamora. The Lamborghini the brothers were riding in went off the road and caught fire. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the site while firefighters fought fires that had spread into surrounding woods. Authorities stated that a blown tire is one potential cause that is being looked into, and they confirmed that no other vehicle was involved. It is not yet clear who was driving.
