Kym Marsh’s next major role has been confirmed, as Coronation Street fans continue to express their hopes of her return to Weatherfield. The actress and singer, who starred as Michelle Connor in the ITV soap from 2006 until 2019, has been announced in the cast of brand-new stage play, Single White Female – based on the iconic 90s psychological thriller. The world premiere stage production, written by author, journalist and broadcaster, Rebecca Reid, will embark on a major UK and Ireland theatre tour from January 2026. It is described as a “bold and modern reimagining of the hit 1992 movie from Columbia Pictures and bestselling book, by John Lutz, that thrilled audiences around the world and led a generation to fear a stiletto heel!” It will be heading to the Manchester Opera House from Tuesday, February 10, 2026, to Saturday, February 14, 2026, as part of the tour across the UK and Ireland until 13 June, with full casting still to be announced. Kym said in a statement: “I am so excited to be bringing this brilliant, brand new and thrilling play to theatres across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. “I remember being totally gripped by the movie when I first saw it in the cinema and could never have imagined back then that I’d be starring in the world premiere of its life on stage. Get ready to be thrilled, shocked and entertained and watch out for those stiletto heels.” Kym’s latest role comes after she recently took on the lead role of Beverly Moss in The Royal Exchange’s major adaptation of cult-classic Abigail’s Party. But despite her blossoming stage career, which also recently included playing Disney icon Cruella De Vil in 101 Dalmatians The Muiscal, Kym is often being begged by fans to make a return to the famous cobbles. Back in February, when asked about whether fans will see her on Corrie again, she told The Sun at the TV Choice Awards 2025 this week: “I’d never say never to going back as I absolutely adore Coronation Street and I had some of my best years there. “I learned so much on that show and I made so many friends. But I left to kind of pursue other projects and I’m still in the middle of doing that, but, maybe one day.”
