Ingredients2 cups all-purpose flour陆 cup brown sugar2 tbsp chopped walnuts2 tbsp white sugar1 tbsp vegetable oil2 tsp dry yeast1 tsp cinnamon powder陆 tsp kosher saltWater as required MethodTo prepare this delightful Korean breakfast dish, hotteok at home, start by placing 1 cup of lukewarm water into a mixing bowl. Now, add white sugar, kosher salt, vegetable oil and yeast and stir it well. Now, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour and mix it with a hand or rice scoop. Allow the dough to rise for an hour and knead it again to remove the gas bubbles in the dough. Allow the dough to rise for another 10-20 minutes. For the filling, mix the brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon powder in a mixing bowl and keep it aside. Once the filling is set, knead the hotteok dough again to remove the gas bubbles. Place and spread about 陆 cup of flour on the chopping board. Next, divide the dough into 8 equal-sized balls. Take a dough ball, flatten it and spread some filling in the centre. Roll it again and repeat the step with the remaining batter. Once you鈥檝e 8 stuffed balls ready with you, heat up a non-stick pan over medium heat and add some vegetable oil. Place 1 ball on the pan and allow it to cook for about 30 seconds. Once the bottom of the dough ball is lightly golden brown, turn it over and press it again with the help of a spatula. Allow the pancake to cook for about 1 minute until the bottom is golden brown and crisp. Flip twice or thrice on very low heat and place the lid on the pan. Cook for about 1 minute, and the brown sugar filling mixture will melt like a syrup. Serve hot and enjoy!
