Keyamo In Sokoto, Unveils New Airport Access Road

LAGOS 鈥 Mr. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has commis-sioned the newly constructed access road to Sokoto鈥檚 Sadiq Abubakar III International Airport.

According to Mr. Tunde Moshood, the minister鈥檚 Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Key-amo used the visit to lay the groundwork for the construc-tion of a new protocol lounge at the airport as part of on-going efforts to modernise the country鈥檚 aviation infra-structure.

The statement suggested that the minister was greet-ed by Dr. Ahmed Sokoto, the Governor of Sokoto State, as the visit coincided with the governor鈥檚 second year in office.

According to Moshood, the event highlighted the spirit of collaboration be-tween the federal and state governments in providing high-quality infrastructure that improves air travel, safety, and the passenger ex-perience.

According to the state-ment, Keyamo stated that the airport serves not only Sokoto but also the entire North-Western region.

鈥淭hese infrastructure upgrades are critical for im-proving the passenger experi-ence and facilitating regional development,鈥 he stated.

Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authori-ty of Nigeria (FAAN), and some of the agency鈥檚 top directors were among those that accompanied the min-ister.

Traditional rulers, state officials, and aviation stake-holders were among those in attendance at the event.

Keyamo鈥檚 visit reflects the Federal Government鈥檚 ongo-ing investment in aviation infrastructure, which is a critical driver of economic growth, regional integration, and national pride, according to the statement.
