WWE has officially confirmed John Cena’s match for SummerSlam 2025. The Undisputed WWE Champion will defend his title against Cody Rhodes in the main event of night 2 of the show. This year’s SummerSlam with be a two-night affair. Cody had earned the right to challenge the champion by winning the King of the Ring at Night of Champions. He defeated Randy Orton in the final. During the Smackdown, WWE made the match official. SummerSlam will take place on August 2 and 3. Cena etched his name in history books by defeating Cody for the title in the main event of Wrestlemania 41. He has been retaining it since then. He is likely to drop the title to Cody at the biggest party of the Summer. Cena, who turned heel at the Elimination Chamber, is likely to turn into a babyface before he retires. Cena’s babyface switch could even happen at SummerSlam. The match between Cena and Cody could be their last against each other. Cena has 15 dates left before in farwell tour and is expected to compete in a maximum of 3-4 matches. The leader of Cenation has already confirmed that he will retire in mid-December. It will be interesting to see who Cena faces in his farewell match. Seth Rollins has the Money in the Bank briefcase The chances of Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank can’t be ruled out and both Cena and Cody returning home empty-handed could also happen at SummerSlam. Rollins tried to cash-in his MITB briefcase during the Night of Champions main event between Cena and CM Punk. Rollins was in the pole position when Cena dumped him out of the ring. He quickly pinned Punk to retain the championship. Rollins didn’t officially cash-in his briefcase and continues to hold the MITB briefcase.
