Jet2 has warned passengers of flight disruption from July 3 until July 5 due to French air traffic control strike action. Staff are walking out on Thursday, July 3 and Friday July 4, with several airports across France slashing their operations, including those in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Corsica. Although flights to and from France are directly impacted, services which cross French airspace will also be affected by the strike action. In a statement on its website, Jet2 warned passengers the strikes could result in delays and that they should be prepared for longer wait times. Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here The airline said: 鈥淲e wanted to let you know about strike action, supported by French Air Traffic Control taking place on the 3rd-5th July 2025, which may cause delays to flights travelling through French airspace. 鈥淩est assured, we’ll try to keep any disruption to a minimum. Check-in will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure (Agadir & Marrakech will close 60 minutes before your scheduled departure), so please arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure. 鈥淲e will be working hard to ensure that the impact on our flights is minimal, however, you may encounter some disruption if you are travelling during this time. 鈥淧lease be prepared for possible longer than normal waits onboard your aircraft to depart. 鈥淲e will board all flights and close all gates for an on-time departure, this will allow us to depart as soon as we are advised we can.鈥 The airline added to make sure passengers check their contact details are up to date. Jet2 said that if the situation changes, passengers will be contacted. Jet2 isn鈥檛 the only airline to be affected, Ryanair has been forced to cancel more than 170 flights because of the French air traffic control strikes. The airline鈥檚 CEO Micheal O鈥橪eary has renewed calls on the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to take 鈥渦rgent action鈥 to reform European Union air traffic control (ATC) services. According to aviation analyst firm Cirium, as of Thursday at midday 463 scheduled flights into French airports have been cancelled so far due to the strikes – equating to 22per cent of all scheduled arrivals into French airports. A further 455 scheduled departures have been cancelled so far today from French airports – equating to 22per cent of all scheduled departures. A total of 44 flights from the UK to France have been cancelled so far today – equating to 31per cent of all flights from the UK to the European country.
