Jessie J shares emotional health update as she confirms her cancer is 'all gone' after surgery

Jessie J has revealed she is now cancer-free following successful surgery earlier this week.

The 37-year-old singer had previously told fans she was stepping away from the spotlight after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Earlier this month, she explained she would 鈥渄isappear鈥 for a while to undergo treatment, just days after performing at Capital鈥檚 Summertime Ball on June 15.

Now, the British hitmaker, known for chart-topping hits like Price Tag, Domino and Bang Bang, has shared a positive health update.

Posting on social media, she confirmed the procedure was a success and that her cancer is 鈥渁ll gone鈥.

Writing a list of 鈥減ros鈥 after her surgery, she began: 鈥淐ancer is all gone. My nipple is where it used to be, I can watch Love Island with no guilt.

鈥淚 am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever.

鈥淢y mum lives with us. Sky just being Sky. Chanan making me feel safe and the messages are 10/10,鈥 she continued.

鈥淐onnecting with other people who are going through a similar time and being able to support each other. Lot of other things鈥︹

However, she also opened up about the challenges she鈥檚 still facing post-surgery.

Sharing her 鈥渃ons鈥, Jessie listed some of the difficult aspects of recovery, including 鈥渘ot being the mum I鈥檓 used to being and picking Sky up鈥, referring to her young son, as well as 鈥渢he pain and discomfort when trying to sleep鈥.

Earlier this week, the artist, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, posted a carousel of images and videos on Instagram documenting the 48 hours before and after her surgery.

She said: 鈥淭his post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours.

鈥淚 will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through. Grateful to my doctor / surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me and all my family / friends who came to visit.

鈥淚 am home now, to rest and wait for my results.

鈥淪till hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!鈥

The singer-songwriter performed at Capital鈥檚 Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 15 and made an emotional speech promising to 鈥渂eat breast cancer鈥 in her final performance before her surgery.

She said: 鈥淚 feel so proud to be feeling OK, to be this honest person where you say what you feel, and this being my last show before I go and have surgery.鈥

The artist has battled with ill health throughout her life, having been diagnosed with a heart condition aged eight, suffering a minor stroke aged 18 and having briefly gone deaf in 2020.

She was awarded four Mobo awards in 2011, including best UK act, best newcomer, best song for Do It Like A Dude and best album with Who You Are and won the Brit Award for rising star in 2011.
