Jake Paul storms out of Piers Morgan interview after heated exchange

Jake Paul dramatically walked off during an interview with Piers Morgan mere days ahead of his return to the ring, following an intense verbal spat. The ‘Problem Child’ is set to lace up against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a cruiserweight bout in Anaheim come Saturday night. The 28-year-old YouTube star hasn’t stepped into the boxing ring since his victory over ex-heavyweight world champ Mike Tyson last November. Against expectations of a knockout, Paul skilfully secured a win by points instead. As Paul gears up for the final preparations before the showdown, he lost his temper and abruptly left an interview with Morgan after an explosive debate concerning his imminent fight and his legitimacy as a boxer. The fiery interview, which also delved into Paul’s contentious bout with Tyson, will be broadcast on YouTube at 10 pm UK time tonight. Sporting a Mexican sombrero, possibly in the mood for his fight against Chavez Jr, the American grew visibly irate before deciding to quit the interview. “I’m not talking about Mike Tyson… I’m trying to fight the best people, and that’s why Chavez is here on Saturday. “I want Canelo. I want Anthony Joshua. I want all these people. It’s been five years in this sport,” Paul declared after Morgan criticised him, saying that although Paul was a great entrepreneur, he was essentially brawling with a 58-year-old, reports the Mirror . Morgan interjected, saying: “But the problem is the only proper boxer you fought was Tommy Fury, and he beat you. He’s not even the best in his family.” Paul retorted: “I mean, you can sit there and make up s***, but you actually don’t know your facts. I fought multiple boxers with professional records, and including Mike Tyson himself, who I think is going to be a harder fight than Chavez.” The internet star boldly claimed he could have beaten a prime Tyson, a suggestion Morgan dismissed outright. An irate Paul responded: “You don’t actually know that! You can’t sit there and say that… I think anything is possible. That’s why self-belief is the most powerful thing in the world.” He continued: “You don’t think I can be a Mike Tyson? I don’t think you go to the gym!” Morgan remarked: “I think you’re a great YouTuber, a great influencer. I admire what you try to do boxing, but I do think when you actually come up against a proper, serious boxer, and I suspect that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, may be that person, it could all come crashing down.” Paul sharply replied: “I think the problem here Piers, is that you think that your opinion matters?”. Jake Paul brazenly declared during a call with the host: “Oh, I’m just taking your audience to sell pay-per-views. I don’t give a f**k about your show, dumb a**. This is a f****** business enterprise. Buy the pay-per-view on Saturday, June 28, me versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Thank you, tune in everybody!” The 28-year-old then abruptly ended the call, prompting Piers to respond with a grin: “Cheers, Jake. I really enjoyed that, and good luck to Julio—knock him out for all of us, will you?” Earlier in the conversation, Paul had confidently asserted his dominance for the upcoming bout, saying, “He’s a dumb a**, and so it’s going to be apparent on Saturday when he’s the one that gets knocked out… I’m being so honest, man, this guy is easy work.” Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, who has been somewhat out of the spotlight in recent years, returned from a three-year break to defeat former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in his last match. With an impressive professional record of 54-6-1-1, Chavez Jr has faced notable opponents such as Andy Lee, Canelo Alvarez, and Daniel Jacobs.
