The former YouTube star, who will enter the ring with Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. this weekend in Anaheim, California, was a guest on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Thursday to promote the fight when the discussion became heated.
鈥淗e鈥檚 a dumba**, and so it鈥檚 going to be apparent on Saturday when he鈥檚 the one that gets knocked out. I鈥檓 being so honest, man, this guy is easy work,鈥 Paul told Morgan of Chavez Jr via video link.
鈥淧eople don鈥檛 realise, I鈥檓 a real killer. I really f***ing do this sh*t. 鈥榊ouTube, this YouTube, Disney that 鈥︹ This sh*t is not a joke. I鈥檓 knocking out the best of the best, beating all of these people time in and time again.
鈥淎nd it鈥檚 about time, that you old heads and all these f***ing boxers who think they know about the sport, put some respect on my name.鈥
Among the boxers Paul defeated via unanimous decision was champion Mike Tyson, who he fought last year in Texas. The fight was streamed on Netflix at the time and a whopping 65 million people tuned in.
鈥淚 think you鈥檙e a great YouTuber, a great influencer. I admire what you try to do boxing, but I do think when you actually come up against a proper, serious boxer, and I suspect that Julio C茅sar Ch茅vez Jr, maybe that person you, it could all come crashing down,鈥 Morgan said.
When the British journalist added that Paul, 28, would never have defeated 58-year-old Tyson when he was in his prime, saying 鈥測ou wouldn鈥檛 have lasted 10 seconds鈥, the young boxer got defensive.
鈥淵ou don鈥檛 actually know that! You can鈥檛 sit there and say that. I think anything is possible,鈥 Paul hit back.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 why self-belief is the most powerful thing in the world. You don鈥檛 think I can be a Mike Tyson? I don鈥檛 think you go to the gym!鈥
Despite Morgan insisting he had been to the gym twice that week, Paul continued his rant, saying: 鈥淵ou鈥檙e still a fat a**.鈥
鈥淚 think the problem here, Piers, is that you think that your opinion matters,鈥 he said. 鈥淚鈥檓 just taking your audience to sell pay per views. I don鈥檛 give a f**k about your show, dumb a**. This is a f**king business enterprise. Buy the pay per view on Saturday, June 28, me versus Julio C茅sar Ch谩vez Jr. Thank you, tune in everybody!鈥
And with that, he was out, leaving Morgan to laugh about what just transpired.
