Coronation Street fans have shared their concern for Todd Grimshaw as Theo Silverton “makes a shocking move”.
Todd (Gareth Pierce) first crossed paths with scaffolder Theo (James Cartwright) back in March, where it emerged that the newcomer was a married man with two kids.
Theo, who had kept his sexuality under wraps, faced rejection from his family when his wife, Danielle (Natalie Anderson), discovered his affair with Todd.
Although Theo initially pulled away from Todd to focus on family matters, the duo eventually reignited their romance, but not without ongoing tension from Theo’s relatives.
His daughter, Millie (Kaitlyn Earley), has been spending a lot of time at number 11 after breaking the news of her pregnancy to her dad, reports Leicestershire Live.
But as it turns out, she wasn’t expecting at all and had concocted the story to get Theo to move back home.
On Monday (June 30), Todd stumbled upon the truth and persuaded Millie to own up, which she tearfully agreed to.
Todd suggested Millie take a pregnancy test to confirm the initial result was incorrect, promising to keep her secret from her parents.
Yet, when Theo returned home, Millie spun a tale, claiming she had visited an abortion clinic at Todd’s request.
Though Theo initially doubted Todd’s honesty, he eventually realised it was his daughter who had been deceitful.
A frustrated Todd later went to the Rovers for a pint, where he was joined by James Bailey (Jason Callender).
James found himself being invited over to Todd’s for a few more drinks, but things took an unexpected turn when a tipsy James leaned in for a kiss.
Todd recoiled, making it clear that his heart belonged to Theo, leaving James to awkwardly apologise.
The situation escalated when Theo got wind of the encounter, and confronted James on the street with a stark warning to steer clear of Todd.
“We’re not mates, me and you. Millie’s not your business, neither’s Todd. Do you understand? If I ever catch you sneaking round him again, we’ll be exchanging more than just words,” he said, just before the credits began rolling.
Now, Emmerdale enthusiasts are voicing their worries that Theo might turn violent towards Todd in future episodes.
Fans have noted Theo’s recent aggressive streak, especially after Glenda Shuttleworth’s (Jodie Prenger) drag event at the Rovers last month.
“Millie and Theo are really getting on my nerves, Todd needs to get rid asap,” one person wrote on a Facebook fan group.
Another chimed in: “I don’t see any chemistry between Todd and Theo,” while a third said: “I think Theo is going to abuse Todd.”
A fourth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: “Yeah, I do think an abuse storyline could be on the cards. Theo definitely has a temper,” with another similarly sharing: “Hopefully Todd can get out before things get worse.”
