With Donald Trump at the helm of the United States, wars have become a joke. They finish quickly as lightning. India鈥檚 war with Pakistan lasted all of 4 days. The Iran-Israel war was over in 12 days. Gaza is a different take. But in India-Pakistan and Iran-Israel, a third country forced its views in with the President of that country causing confusion 鈥 US President Donald Trump.
Last Friday, Trump repeated that it was he who stopped the India-Pakistan war from going nuclear and that he did this by ordering his administration to 鈥渃ancel all deals鈥 with the two countries. Earlier, he had claimed that he offered them mouthwatering 鈥渟weetened trade deals鈥 in lieu of war.
Problem is, Trump is always talking 19 to the dozen and he marks shifts with gay abandon. 鈥淲e did some great work. India and Pakistan. That was going to be maybe nuclear. We did that. We did a lot of work. I don鈥檛 know if there鈥檚 ever been a president that鈥檚 done much more,鈥 Trump said on Friday.
Trump was in an expansive mood. The US Supreme Court had just then limited the power of lower courts in a birthright citizenship case and President Trump couldn鈥檛 have asked for more. Without preamble, Trump repeated that he stopped a nuclear war by threatening that 鈥淲ashington will stop trade鈥 with Delhi and Islamabad.
鈥淪erbia, Kosovo is going to go at it, going to be a big war. I said, 鈥榊ou go at it, there鈥檚 no trade with the United States鈥. That鈥檚 what happened with India and Pakistan. I was negotiating with both of them and I said鈥ancel all deals with India and Pakistan. They鈥檙e not trading with us because they鈥檙e in a war,鈥 Trump said.
Who is lying, Prime Minister Narendra Modi or President Trump? India鈥檚 Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri vouched for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nobody so far, anybody from the Trump administration, has vouched for President Trump. Neither Vice President JD Vance nor Secretary of State Marco Rubio or Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The 鈥渃easefire鈥 between India and Pakistan was on the urgent request of Pakistan鈥檚 DGMO. Trump claims 鈥榯he two countries called back鈥. I said, 鈥淟ook, you want to have trade with the United States. It鈥檚 great, but you want to go and start using nuclear weapons鈥e鈥檙e not going to allow that. And they both agreed, both have great leaders鈥o we did a lot,鈥 President Trump said.
India still hasn鈥檛 succumbed to Trump鈥檚 delusion. India also doesn鈥檛 call it a 鈥渃easefire鈥. As far as India is concerned, it鈥檚 an 鈥渦nderstanding鈥 worked out on May 10 by the DGMOs of India and Pakistan. Also, as far as India is concerned, 鈥極peration Sindoor鈥 hasn鈥檛 been called off, yet. If Pakistan enacts another instance of cross-border terrorism, all bets are off.
President Trump wants the Nobel Peace Prize and the USA is banking on wars to land President Trump the 鈥楴obel Peace Prize鈥. Trump is desperate for a ceasefire. It didn鈥檛 happen with Russia-Ukraine and Trump made sure India and Pakistan went after each other for Trump to claim credit for a 鈥渃easefire鈥.
It is another matter that India does not and will 鈥渘ever accept鈥 mediation on Kashmir. Now, in the latest, President Trump says that but for him, Iran鈥檚 鈥淪upreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei鈥, wouldn鈥檛 have been around. 鈥淚 saved him from an ugly and ignominious death,鈥 Trump said and Iran鈥檚 Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asked Trump to watch his 鈥渢one鈥.
While delivering a victory speech, Khamenei had said that the US President had 鈥渆xaggerated events in unusual ways鈥 the previous day. 鈥淚f President Trump truly wishes to reach an agreement, he should set aside his disrespectful and unacceptable tone towards the Iranian Supreme leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop hurting his millions of sincere supporters,鈥 Araghchi posted to X.
Araghchi also said that the Israeli regime 鈥渉ad NO CHOICE but to RUN to Daddy鈥 to avoid being 鈥渇lattened by our Missiles鈥, adding that Iranians valued their independence and did not take kindly to 鈥渢hreats and insults鈥.
Khamenei said the US President needed the 鈥渆xaggeration鈥 and that 鈥渢he Islamic republic won鈥, delivering 鈥渁 severe slap to the face of America鈥, to which Trump shot back, 鈥淚 saved Khamenei from an ugly death鈥, questioning Khamenei鈥檚 declaration of victory in the war against Israel, asking why the Supreme Leader had 鈥渂latantly and foolishly鈥 claimed victory 鈥渨hen he knows his statement is a lie, it is not so. As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie,鈥 Trump said.
Trump spoke the truth when he said Iran had been 鈥渄ecimated鈥, and that Iran鈥檚 three 鈥渆vil nuclear sites鈥 had also been 鈥渙bliterated鈥. Trump also claimed he knew 鈥渆xactly鈥 where Khamenei was sheltered and that he had not allowed Israel and the US armed forces to take Khamenei鈥檚 life.
The fact is, despite these 鈥渇acts鈥 and clarifications, Trump still does not have a 鈥渃easefire鈥 to flaunt with and get a Nobel in return. Also, far less influential global leaders are holding the most-powerful man on the planet to ransom, putting a question mark on whether it is unilateralism or multilateralism that rules the world.
The US President said that he was 鈥渨as working on possible removal of sanctions against Iran鈥 and this would have given Iran a much better chance 鈥渁t a full, fast, and complete recovery鈥, but had 鈥渄ropped all work on sanction relief鈥 after being 鈥渉it鈥 by Khamenei鈥檚 statement of 鈥渁nger, hatred, and disgust.鈥
Trump predicted bad things ahead for Iran. 鈥淭hey are always so angry, hostile, and unhappy, and look at what it has gotten them 鈥 A burned out, blown up Country, with no future, a decimated Military, a horrible Economy, and DEATH all around them.鈥 The only problem is, such a dark prognosis will not fetch a Nobel Peace Prize for President Trump!
