Iran Open to Settling Disputes with US Under International Framework

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday expressed his country’s readiness to resolve disputes with the United States based on the international framework.The Iranian government’s television reported, as cited by Anadolu, that Pezeshkian held telephone conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.”We hope that negotiations between Iran and the U.S. will begin soon and lead to a positive outcome,” Pezeshkian said in his conversation with bin Salman.Iran seeks a fair and reasonable agreement within the international framework, an agreement that guarantees the rights inseparable from the Iranian people and contributes to the stability and development of the region, the president stated.”We have no demands beyond our rightful entitlements and welcome any support from friendly and brotherly nations in resolving these matters,” he added.The report noted that Prince MBS indicated that his country has condemned Israel’s actions against Iran from the beginning.”We, nor any other country in our region, have opened our airspace for any action against Iran, and we will not do so. There will also be no operations against Iran from US bases in our countries.
