Owen Farrell has found his true match in his wife Georgie Lyon but what do we know about the woman cheering him on?
While Owen is the son of Ireland coach Andy Farrell, he has carved his own path in the world of rugby playing fly-half for Saracens in the UK.
Now as he flies out to join the Lions Tour after getting a call-up from his dad Andy, here’s everything we know about Owen’s other half…
Who is Owen Farrell’s wife?
Georgie Lyon likes to stay out of the limelight and is very private when it comes to sharing online although she has been seen at many of Owen’s matches over the years.
The couple have been together for several years and it’s thought that she works in event planning for charity organisations.

The couple announced their engagement in 2017 and tied the knot the following year. Owen and his dad even shared a sweet moment on the night as they treated guests to a duet of Some Might Say by Oasis.
Georgie looked stunning on her big day in a white dress with delicate off-the-shoulder sleeves and her blonde hair styled in an up do.
It sounds like great fun was had with England rugby players Chris Ashton and Danny Care revealing on Radio 5 in 2019 that Denis Betts, former assistant coach of the England national team, encouraged them to tackle him at the bar!
Danny said: ‘The full Farrell clan and everyone at the wedding crowded round, made a circle old-school style, and we did a set of ten low chop tackles on Denis Betts. My suit was ruined, but they were the best tackles I’ve ever made I think.’
Growing their family
The couple welcomed their first son Tommy in 2019 and their second Freddie in March 2021. Georgie went into labour with Tommy the night before Owen’s club Saracens was due to play a match.
Saracens coach Mark McCall revealed at the time: ‘Owen’s wife went into labour on Friday night and at half eight this morning [Saturday] he was pretty confident it would all happen – but it didn’t. He phoned me at half past two saying “in the next half hour”… I said “Owen, the game starts at quarter past three!”‘
Tommy and Freddie are no strangers to Ireland games as when the teams played at the Aviva during the Grand Slam Six Nations decider in 2022, the boys were seen on the pitch.
Tommy even wanted to sport an Ireland jersey, with his dad telling a press conference at the time: ‘I asked him why he has got one. He said, “it鈥檚 grandad鈥檚 team” and I said 鈥渨ell, you can wear a suit like grandad does, then, not the kit鈥.’
Home life and a year abroad
The family lived in Hertfordshire in England before upping and moving to France in July 2024 for one year when Owen joined French professional rugby club, Racing 92.
Owen, Georgia, and their two little boys, Tommy and Freddie, settled on the outskirts of Paris with their kids attending an international school. However, his time with Racing 92 was hampered by injuries and he confirmed he was moving back to England in June 2025, when he re-joined his origianl club, Saracens.
British and Irish Lions’ call-up
In July 2025, head coach Andy Farrell called his son Owen up to join the Lions squad on their tour of Australia in a shock replacement for an injured Elliot Daly, who broke his left arm.
The move caused controversy among fans as Andy was accused of ‘nepotism’ as his son hasn’t played international rugby since the World Cup in 2023.
Andy said in a statement: ‘It is heartbreaking for the group that Elliot鈥檚 Tour is over. He is a Lions legend who has added so much to the group on and off the field over the past few weeks and over the course of three Tours.
‘Owen will now come in and add to our options and bring his own Lions experience to the group.’
Owen had been set to cover the Lions Tour as a pundit for Sky Sports alongside other big rugby names such as Ronan O鈥橤ara, Warren Gatland, and Conor Murray.
