Infosys Fires Bengaluru Techie For Filming Female Staff In Office Washroom; Issues Statement

Bengaluru: IT giant Infosys has sacked an employee for allegedly filming a woman in the office washroom in Bengaluru. The company, in a statement, said that they have zero tolerance for any form of harassment, MoneyControl reported. “We are aware of this incident and have taken necessary action against the employee, who is now separated from the Company. We also promptly supported the complainant by facilitating a swift complaint with the law enforcement authorities and continue to cooperate as they investigate further. Infosys is committed to providing an environment free of harassment and has a zero-tolerance policy. We take every complaint related to any violation of the Company’s Code of Conduct seriously,” the company said in a statement. As per the initial probe, 30 obscene videos from found on Mali’s device. The female staff and her husband approached the Electronic City police station, where she filed a formal complaint. Acting quickly on her report, police arrested Swapnil Nagesh Mali on Monday. Authorities are now investigating the full extent of the offence, including whether more women were unknowingly filmed, and how long this misconduct may have been going on.
