A 30-year-old Infosys employee has been arrested for allegedly recording obscene videos of a female colleague inside a restroom on the company鈥檚 campus in Electronics City, Bengaluru.
The accused, identified as Swapnil Nagesh Mali, is a senior associate consultant working in the Infosys Helix department.
He has been booked under Section 66(E) of the Information Technology Act, 2008, and Section 77 (voyeurism) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
The survivor, a 35-year-old woman, stated in the complaint filed on 30 June that she noticed something unusual while using the restroom: a reflection on the opposite door.
When she stood on the commode to inspect, she reportedly discovered Mali attempting to secretly record her using a mobile phone.
When the accused was caught red-handed, he reportedly began to apologise, but the survivor ran out of the washroom and raised an alarm, shouting that a man was inside.
Company HR personnel then detained the accused, and upon checking his phone, found a video recording of the survivor.
