After a long wait, Indian Railways has finally introduced the RailOne app. It will serve as a super app for all travel-related services like, train ticket booking, train status, complaint redressal, chart details, and a lot more. The application is available for both Android and iOS devices via Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively. The Indian Railways have unified its services like the National Train Enquiry System, IRCTC Rail Connect, Rail Madad, and UTS into one app through the latest offering. Furthermore, the app will also help users see the PNR status and the position of the train and coach. To conduct payments, the application also gets an R-Wallet which is a service introduced by Indian Railways. The wallet will be authenticated using mPIN and biometrics. The best part about the app is that you don’t need to create a new account if you are a user of RailConnect or UTSonMobile. For the not-so-regular travellers, the app offers the guest login feature through mobile OTP authentication. As claimed by the officials, the new app will be able to handle up to 150,000 reservations per minute and even process 4 million enquiries per minute. That’s not it, as the app will offer special provisions for students, patients, and Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) along with supporting multiple languages. Not to forget that the app will be competing with third-party players in the market like RailYatri and Ixigo Trains that offer all the mentioned services along with a clean user interface.
