India Blocks Land Route Imports Of Jute, Woven Fabrics, Yarn From Bangladesh

India on Friday imposed restrictions on the import of jute, woven fabrics, and yarns from Bangladesh via land border routes.
While imports of these items are no longer permitted through land routes, the government has designated Mumbai’s Nhava Sheva port as the sole entry point for such goods.
According to a notification issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, the restricted items include flax tow and waste (including yarn waste and garnetted stock), raw or retted jute and other bast fibers (excluding flax, true hemp, and ramie), single flax yarn, single or multiple folded jute yarn, woven flax fabrics, and unbleached woven jute fabrics.
