Becky Holt, who is committed to becoming the ‘most tattooed woman in Britain’, has tattoos covering her body from head to toe. However, fans noticed one area that remains untouched after she was seen sunbathing on Instagram. In a stylish red bikini at Beach Cabo Roig in Spain, with a scarf adorning her head, she captioned her post: “Beach day with my loves,” and received numerous compliments calling her “beautiful,” and a “stunning woman”. Previously, Becky has discussed getting tattoos in intimate areas, but during a Q&A on Instagram Live, she revealed there’s one place she won’t consider for a tattoo. Some observant fans noted the absence of tattoos on the soles of her feet. One commented: “Next, we want foot tattoos”. When asked by one of her over 150,000 followers if she planned to get the soles of her feet tattooed, given that the tops of her toes already feature designs, Becky replied: “No, there’s no point. I can’t be bothered with the pain of it for it not to last”. There’s a reason why Becky isn’t keen on getting the soles of her feet tattooed. Not only is it a painful area to ink, but it’s also not the most practical decision for a plethora of reasons. Tattoos on the soles of the feet are known to fade faster than those on any other part of the body. This is likely due to the difficulty in penetrating the harder or calloused skin that often forms on the feet from regular walking. In some cases, tattoos on the soles of the feet may last less than a couple of years, leading many, like Becky, to question their worth. The skin on the soles of our feet is constantly subjected to friction and pressure as it’s our primary point of contact with the ground when we walk, run, or stand. This results in more frequent regeneration of skin cells, which can accelerate the fading of tattoos. Moreover, the constant rubbing against socks, shoes, and the ground acts as an exfoliant on the skin, potentially causing the tattoo to wear off prematurely. Furthermore, this area is susceptible to increased sweating and exposure to bacteria, heightening the risk of infection if not properly maintained. Therefore, it’s crucial to adhere to aftercare instructions and try to reduce pressure on the area as much as possible during the healing process.
