I can’t sing the praises of midi dresses enough as a staple in your wardrobe. I adore anything that offers versatility in styling and can be worn for various occasions, and a midi dress ticks all those boxes.
The latest addition to my wardrobe is one that I’m certain will remain a favourite for many years to come; the Meg Bright Green Midi Dress from Fat Face. Everything from the vibrant colour to the light, airy fabric has earned this dress a permanent place in my wardrobe, and with a holiday on the horizon, I know this will be the first thing I pack.

The Meg Midi Dress is priced at 拢65, and while I chose the summer-ready bright green colour, it’s also available in a neutral beige shade that’s ideal for those who lean towards a more minimalist style. The size range is also commendable; it spans from a size six to a 22, with both short and regular lengths available. I opted for my usual size (a 14) and it fit like a dream, so I would suggest sticking to your normal size.
What really attracted me to the dress was its flattering shape. It’s fitted in the bodice with a flowing midi skirt which creates a flattering silhouette, and the ruching detail around the bust is adjustable, allowing you to tailor it to your figure. Plus, the fact it comes with handy pockets for your room key or some spare change obviously makes it an instant winner.
The Meg Midi Dress comes with adjustable straps, allowing you to tailor the fit to your body. The back features a shirred panel for added stretch and comfort. However, it’s worth noting that there isn’t any stretch in the front or waist, so if you’re blessed with a larger bust, you might need to size up for a bit more room.
If you’re after something with ample stretch, the 拢69 Green Short Sleeve A-line Sarah Midi Dress from Nobody’s Child is a brilliant choice. It boasts a T-shirt style top and a similar flowing midi skirt, offering plenty of freedom of movement.
For those who prefer a more streamlined, minimalist silhouette, Seasalt Cornwall’s Madder Jersey Woven Mix Sleeveless Dress is just the ticket, and it’s currently on sale at 拢37.95, down from 拢69.95. Crafted from 100% organic cotton, it’s breathable and sports a flattering fit and flare design.
One of my favourite aspects of the Meg Midi Dress is its material. It’s made from 100% Lenzing ecovero viscose, a sustainable alternative to regular viscose, maintaining the same soft, lightweight feel.
It’s airy, comfortable, and doesn’t stick to my body or feel too thick or heavy, making it ideal for sizzling summer temperatures. While it does have a slightly thicker lining under the skirt to ensure it’s not see-through, this is also light and floaty enough to complement the dress, rather than detract from it, reports the Mirror.
Whilst the Meg Midi Dress will certainly be joining me on holiday to be paired with sandals and a tote bag, I also reckon it could be effortlessly glammed up for a dinner or even a summer wedding. A simple pair of heeled sandals and a beaded clutch bag would instantly alter its vibe, all while keeping you cool and comfy in the heat.
