ISLAMABAD: The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has officially endorsed the recent elections of the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) held under the Pakistan Sports Board鈥檚 election commission.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Wednesday, IFSC president Marco Maria Scolaris in an official letter expressed best wishes to Maj Gen Irfan Arshad on his election as ACP president.
The letter reaffirmed IFSC鈥檚 recognition of the PSB-supervised election process and conveyed optimism about working with the ACP to promote sport climbing across Pakistan.鈥淭he IFSC lauded the efforts of the Alpine Club in highlighting sport climbing at the national level and affirmed its continued support for the growth and development of Pakistan athletes under the new leadership,鈥 read the PSB press release.
