At the 2nd edition of the India Climate Summit 2025 in Delhi, UNDP Advocate and Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar revealed that she has climate anxiety. While talking to Shreya Dhoundial, Bhumi explained what it means. The actress, a climate warrior, got into the details of the term and revealed how it affected her as a child. There was barely any conversation around mental health. I didn鈥檛 know I had it. I realised it recently.鈥 What does climate anxiety mean? Explaining in detail, the actress added, 鈥淪o, as a young adult, I would spend many many days and nights worrying about my future. At a young age, I developed a keen interest in the subject. I would read up a lot and realised that human activity is going towards, since I was a child, the visuals in my head were apocalyptic. Now, when we see, the visuals are apocalyptic. Wildfire ke visuals dekhe honge, it looks straight from an apocalypse film. I would worry about how I would save my family because that鈥檚 what we are here to do.
