'I tried pyjama jeans from a viral Taylor Swift-approved brand and they're a gamechanger'

Denim is a staple in my wardrobe, especially during the spring and summer months. I’m always on the hunt for that perfect pair of jeans, even though they’ve been feeling a bit snug lately.

But, I’m not ready to part with them just yet.

Earlier this year, I gave River Island’s “pyjama jeans” a go and was amazed by their comfort. And now, I’ve stumbled upon another pair that might be even more comfortable, yet they still pass as regular denim jeans.

The pair I’m raving about are the Halara Flex鈩 Asymmetric Low Rise Baggy Wide Leg Jeans, which are currently on offer for 拢39.95, down from 拢58.95. I wasn’t too familiar with Halara before trying these out, but they come with the Taylor Swift stamp of approval.

Taylor Swift made her first Coachella appearance in six years alongside her beau Travis Kelce in 2024, rocking a TikTok-famous 拢40 skirt. The Breezeful鈩 High Waisted Pleated 2-in-1 Side Pocket Skirt from Halara went viral on TikTok last year, capturing attention with its unique garter detail, reports the Mirror.

Halara is primarily known for its activewear and loungewear, so it’s no surprise that they’re venturing into denim while prioritising comfort.

When I first got my hands on the asymmetric jeans, I was a tad sceptical. They were incredibly soft and stretchy, akin to joggers, and I doubted whether they’d actually resemble jeans when worn.

However, as soon as I slipped into them, I had a complete change of heart. They genuinely looked just as stylish as other denim pieces I own, but felt ten times more comfortable.

I also loved the asymmetric button detailing, as previous pyjama-style denim I’ve tried have kept things fairly basic with design features. But Halara offers so many on-trend styles to choose from in the Flex Range, from cargo-style jeans to maxi skirts and fashionable corset waistcoats.

My only criticism would be that the inside and outside buttons feel somewhat flimsy, as though they could pop off easily. Despite this, however, I have worn the jeans multiple times and all buttons remain intact.

If you fancy trying the original “sweatpant jeans”, Rag and Bone’s Miramar Wide-Leg Jeans are available to shop at Selfridges for 拢195. Alternatively, New Look has some Blue Drawstring Waist Denim Trousers for 拢26.99 that feel as comfortable as tracksuit bottoms but have a denim effect.
