'I made three-hour trip to charity shop for single item – now life is complete'

A woman who journeyed three hours to a charity shop says she has finally found fulfilment after acquiring an oddity she’d desired for a long time. Bargain hunter Lola Amuah shared her thrill on TikTok following the unique find. Jumping for joy and brandishing the £20 item in the air, she exclaimed: “It’s actually Ed’s! I drove three hours for this. The things we do. My life is made.” Along with her friend, Lola then explored a clothes rail displaying a number of worn boxer shorts. She asked: “There’s actually some red hair on it, do you think that’s his hair?” These weren’t just any pair of boxers, however – these had previously been owned by none other than Ed Sheeran. The particular shop – a branch of East Anglia Children’s Hospice – is famed for stocking goods once possessed and donated by the singer. It even has its own section that’s appropriately titled, gift-Ed. “Oh my gosh,” Lola gasped whilst rifling through several T-shirts that used to be owned by the celebrity. She also discovered socks and a hot water bottle offered up by the ‘Shape of You’ artist, confessing: “I just don’t know what to get, there’s so much choice.” The scent of 34-year old Ed’s socks appeared to help her decide though, as she resolved: “I’ve got to get these.” Her friend contemplated buying one of Ed’s old glasses cases priced at £10, while Lola grabbed the pair of the boxer shorts she fancied and proceeded to the checkout. “You get a certificate of authenticity with them,” she praised, as she also picked out another of Ed’s glasses cases – this time by luxury fashion brand Armani – retailing at an impressive £10 too. Reacting to the post, one TikTok user humorously remarked: “As much as I love Ed Sheeran I don’t think I could buy his pants. But you do you girl.” Another added in jest: “I thought I was odd, turns out – not really!” while a third queried: “Why would you actually want these?”. Lola joined the conversation in the comments section, disclosing that the East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH) shop is located in Framlingham, Suffolk, where Ed hails from. Earlier in the year, e-commerce manager Scott Campbell penned on the charity’s website : “We’ll be drip-feeding these for sale throughout the year, which means the final total, based on the average selling price so far, could reach around £45,000. “It’s been a huge effort by our team to manage the auctions, especially over the festive period, and something very fun and exciting to be involved in.” Ed has been a dedicated supporter of EACH, having met staff and families at The Treehouse in Ipswich after he took on the role of Ambassador in 2014.
