While most of us spend Monday nights holed up at home in sweatpants, Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway does things a little differently. This week, the 21-year-old royal stepped out looking every bit the future queen as she attended a gala dinner wearing a glitzy dress and iconic jewels. For the unversed, the Princess recently joined the Norwegian Royal family at a state dinner in Oslo, held in honour of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte. For the occasion, Princess Ingrid arrived with her parents, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and was joined by her grandparents, King Harald and Queen Sonja, along with other members. It was a true royal affair and she sure was dressed the part. The young royal wore a striking red Vivienne Westwood gown that felt classic and bold at the same time. The dress featured the brand’s signature corset bodice and a dramatic off-the-shoulder neckline, giving it that timeless silhouette Westwood is known for. But of course, it’s her bling that stood out from the the crowd! Ingrid’s diamond tiara was the real showstopper of the night. And nope, it wasn’t just any other glittering piece. It’s the Boucheron Pearl Circle Tiara, a family heirloom with over 100 years of history. It originally belonged to her great-great-grandmother, Princess Ingeborg, and was gifted to Ingrid on her 18th birthday. The princess first wore it for her official birthday portraits, and now, the iconic piece seems to have earned a permanent spot in her royal wardrobe. The delicate little piece of history has been made from interlocking diamond circles set in platinum, later upgraded with pearls and diamond accents. And the best part? It is said to be Princess Ingeborg’s most-worn piece, and it even made an appearance at Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding ball in 1947—worn by a different royal guest of honour. For Ingrid Alexandra, though, this tiara is more than just tradition. The young princess is carving out her identity as a young royal with style and substance, blending heritage with a fresh and modern edge.
