How much it costs to go to Glastonbury - tickets, tipis, beer prices and more

Glastonbury has taken over the small Somerset village of Pilton for another year as the festival gets underway for 2025. Three full days of entertainment kick off today, June 27, with some of the biggest artists from across the globe set to perform to the crowds. This year, ticket holders can expect to see headline sets from Cheshire pop outfit The 1975, Canadian folk legend Neil Young and American popstar Olivia Rodrigo, as well as a special Sunday legend set from Rod Stewart and hundreds more performances across several stages. The festival, set up by founder Michael Eavis 54 years ago, is often likened to a pop-up town due to its sheer size. Around 200,000 people attend each summer and it takes place on a site covering 1,500 acres of farmland . Back in the 1970s, you could grab a ticket for around a fiver and see the likes of David Bowie, Peter Gabriel and T.Rex perform, but these days Glastonbury isn’t such a cheap weekend away. Some have criticised the festival in recent years for increasing its prices, with the cost of a ticket now reaching nearly 拢400. But that hasn’t put off the thousands of music fans that descend on Worthy Farm each year, with tickets for the festival consistently selling out in a matter of minutes. Here we have a look at how much it costs to go to Glastonbury, and what you can expect to spend while you’re there. This year, a general admission Glastonbury ticket set you back 拢378.50, plus an extra 拢10.25 for postage and packing per order. Coach tickets cost the general admission price, plus the cost of a coach fare, and a 拢2.75 order fee. Coach fares vary depending on where you depart from and whether you get a return ticket or a single ticket. For example a single fare from Bristol will set you back just 拢24, while a return coach from Glasgow will cost you 拢160. This year’s ticket price is up nearly 拢20 from last year鈥檚 festival. Last year, a general admission ticket was priced at 拢360. In 2023, the festival cost 拢340, which was up 拢55 from the 2022 price of 拢285. According to the Glastonbury festival website, a general admission ticket includes: A parking pass – priced at 拢55 – is needed if you want to drive to the festival and park your vehicle on site. For people who want to bring a campervan or a caravan, a different pass that lets you pitch up in the designated campervan areas will be needed. Campervan tickets cost 拢200 for a standard pitch or 拢300 for a large pitch. If you want to stay in alternative accommodation away from the general camping fields – either the on-site tipis and pre-erected tents or other local off-site accommodation, that will set you back more too. Glastonbury has a number of options for people who don’t want to bring their own tent with them – but they don’t come cheap. The Tipi Village, located at the top of the site overlooking the festival, offers pre-erected 18-foot tipi tents that can accommodate up to six adults. A pre-erected tipi for 2025 costs 拢1,795 – not including the price of your festival ticket. Tipis include a waterproof groundsheet, inner lining and rain catcher, but festival goers have to bring their own bedding and sleeping mats. On the plus side, guests have access to showers, compost loos and hot food and drink in the campsite. There are also two camping fields with pre-erected tents located off-site, a short distance from the festival. Worthy View and Sticklinch offer “unpretentious, custom-made and pre-erected festival accommodation”, according to the website. These two sites have a number of different tent options ranging from two-person tents for 拢455 to eight-person safari tents for 拢1,650. Yurts, tipis and podpads are also available. While the entertainment is free once you’re inside, unfortunately the food and drinks are not. Some punters may choose to bring their own supplies to keep them going throughout the weekend, but with hundreds of vendors operating from the site over the weekend, you’re missing out if you don’t partake in some festival food. Far from your usual festival offerings of cheesy chips, burgers and ice cream, Glastonbury attendees can expect to be served up cuisines from every corner of the globe. More than 400 food traders operate on the site serving everything from Asian street food and Caribbean curries to fish and chips and bacon butties. In 2024, a burger and chips was priced at around 拢10 to 拢14, while burritos were around 拢12 and toasties could be found for between 拢8 and 拢10. But for those who don’t want to break the bank, Glastonbury has pledged to offer meals for as little as just 拢6. This year, around 300 stalls will be offering a 拢6 meal deal, according to organisers, which could be anything from a muesli breakfast bowl with a coffee to a stuffed falafel pitta bread. There are also dozens of bars on site selling draught beer and cider, real ale, spirits, wine, cocktails and soft drinks. This year a Brooklyn Pilsner or Brothers Cider costs 拢6.95, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc or Merlot could be found for around 拢30 and spirits cost from 拢5.95 without a mixer.
