'His humour and wit will never be forgotten' - Family pays tribute to 'loving father' who died at industrial premises in Brierley Hill

Robert Storey, 51, died on Tuesday (July 1) following an incident at an industrial site on Pedmore Road, in Brierley Hill, Dudley.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 9.53am in response to reports of an incident at an industrial unit on the road.

On arrival, they discovered one patient, Mr Storey; however, it was sadly found that nothing could be done to save him, and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

Now, Mr Storey’s family have paid tribute to their ‘loving partner, son, father, uncle and grandfather’ who was ‘taken too soon’.

They said: “It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Robert Storey – a loving partner, son, uncle and grandfather.

“Tragically taken too soon, Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

“His wit, humour and devotion to family will never be forgotten.”

Police have confirmed that they are continuing to work with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the circumstances around Mr Storey’s death.

A Health and Safety Executive spokesperson said: “We are liaising with West Midlands Police to establish what happened.”

Robert’s family has requested that their privacy be respected during this time.
