Reverend Benjamin Michael Yaao Banson, Resident Pastor of Rehoboth Holyfire Ministries International, has cautioned against making hasty decisions, warning that they rarely end well.
In an interview on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme Nyansapɔ Fie, hosted by Nana Asabea, Pastor Banson emphasised the importance of careful consideration before making decisions.
Using the example of breaking news, which are often not true but can lead to misinformation due to lack of fact-checking, Pastor Banson advised business owners to conduct thorough cost analyses before pricing goods. He also warned against unhealthy competitions in business, which can lead to loss.
Lady Elizabeth Kesewaa Nortey, renowned speaker and Creative Director of Kess Millinery and Beads, echoed this sentiment, noting that unhealthy competitions can lead people to mimic others, even in their dressing and eating habits, causing them to make hasty decisions in an attempt to keep up.
“Lack of information, ‘too knowing’ individuals who refuse to seek counselling, and over ambitiousness are catalysts to making hasty decisions,” Lady Nortey added.
Reverend Dr Christiana Otoo Lartey, Senior Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, concurred, stressing the importance of considering the consequences of decisions before making them.
“A lot of things go wrong whenever we make hasty decisions, and many a time we don’t share our decisions with others to seek their counsel, but only end up in hasty decisions which result in unpleasant consequences,” she said.
The pastors’ warnings serve as a timely reminder to take the time to think carefully before making decisions, seeking counsel and considering the potential consequences. By doing so, individuals can avoid the pitfalls of hasty decisions and make more informed choices that lead to positive outcomes.
