This cautious move comes after a recent stampede during a Pushpa 2 promotional event in Andhra Pradesh.
Though the Sandhya Theatre screening was canceled, the trailer will still be shown at other locations across Hyderabad as planned. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film stars Pawan Kalyan, alongside Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol as Emperor Aurangzeb. During a Pushpa 2: The Rule promo at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4, 2024, a stampede caused the death of 39-year-old Revathi and seriously injured her 9-year-old son. Fans rushed to see actor Allu Arjun, overwhelming the theatre. Reports say his security team pushed through the crowd, making things worse. After the tragedy, Telangana court banned late-night shows and restricted children from theaters after 11 PM. The theatre also faced a notice for poor crowd management. Allu Arjun was arrested but later got bail. The incident led to stricter safety rules for film events.
