Gwadar Human Trafficking Bid Foiled, Two Arrested

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two human traffickers in Gwadar for attempting to send Pakistani citizens to Iran through illegal sea routes. According to an FIA statement, 鈥渕ajor operations鈥 were carried out by the Composite Circle Gwadar, leading to the suspects鈥 arrests from different areas of the district. Victims later identified the traffickers, who had charged Rs 10,000 each for the unlawful journey. Human smuggling from Pakistan to Iran remains a long-standing challenge, with Balochistan鈥檚 coastal belt, particularly Gwadar, often exploited as a key transit point. Migrants, lured by promises of better economic opportunities or onward travel to the Middle East and Europe, frequently face perilous journeys arranged by traffickers.
