The Guam APEX Accelerator is offering free webinars for July. Webinars are held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. via Zoom.
The Zoom link is emailed to registrants 30 minutes before the webinar.
• July 3, mentor-protégé programs: Small Business Administration and Department of Defense mentor-protégé programs allow small businesses to team up with large businesses without running afoul of affiliation regulations.
The webinar will update participants on the eligibility requirements, the application process, and follow-up requirements for both programs.
• July 10, cybersecurity: DoD contractor responsibilities: DoD vendors need to protect some types of unclassified information.
The webinar will discuss DoD’s current requirements, including Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC 2.0), as well as DoD’s cybersecurity assistance to small and medium sized businesses via Project Spectrum.
• July 17, how to register in SAM. This webinar is hosted by the Veterans Business Outreach Center of the Pacific.
The webinar will walk participants through SAM.gov and show them how to set up a new user account, how to complete the Entity Validation process, and how to complete the actual SAM registration. It will also discuss follow-up requirements.
• July 24, government innovation programs: The federal government will pay participants to bring an idea to market. The webinar will discuss the various Government Innovation Programs, GIPs, that can help participants do this, including Small Business Innovation Research, SBIR, Small Business Technology Transfer, STTR, Challenge.gov, and Science & Technology Broad Agency Announcements, S&T BAAs.
• July 31, improving the readiness of the DIB: DoD’s Industrial Base and Sustainment program aims to improve the readiness of the growing Defense Industrial Base.
The webinar will discuss the Defense Production Act Title III, and how to make sure one’s business remains free of foreign ownership, control, or influence.
