Gov鈥檛 Statistician hammers on accurate business data as IBES phase two nears

Ahead of the second phase of the Integrated Business Establishment Survey (IBES) set for July 10, Government Statistician Dr. Iddrisu Alhassan has underscored the critical role accurate business data plays in shaping effective national policy.

The survey, which will cover over 44,000 businesses across the country, aims to build a comprehensive business register and offer valuable insights into the structure of Ghana鈥檚 economy.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a training programme for IBES field officers, Dr. Alhassan appealed to businesses to support the initiative, stressing that their cooperation is essential for promoting a transparent and responsive economic environment.

鈥淲e want to assure businesses that the information provided will not be used to penalize them in any way. On the contrary, it will be used to drive national development,鈥 he said.

He called on all businesses to warmly receive IBES field officers when they arrive to collect data.

鈥淧lease welcome them. Know that these young men and women have undergone rigorous training and are committed to the highest standards. The data collected will be securely handled and used solely for development purposes,鈥 Dr. Alhassan added.
