Gov鈥檛 acknowledges the importance of Hong Kong in the local market

The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held the 鈥淓xperience Macau鈥 Carnival in Hong Kong over the weekend.

Themed 鈥淰ibrant Summer, Explore Macau,鈥 the carnival featured two exhibition zones with stage performances and interactive games.

The event is part of a series of tourism promotions designed to attract visitors to Macau during the summer holidays.

At the launch ceremony, held at East Point City shopping mall in Hong Kong, MGTO director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes reaffirmed that Hong Kong is a key visitor market for Macau.

鈥淲ithin this convenient one-hour living hub, Hong Kong and Macau have been popular travel destinations for each other鈥檚 residents,鈥 she said, noting that in the first five months of this year, visitor arrivals from Hong Kong to Macau exceeded 3.03 million, with a daily average of over 20,000 visitors.

Senna Fernandes noted that these figures demonstrate the close tourism exchange between the two cities. She expressed hope that MGTO鈥檚 roadshow would 鈥渟park Hong Kong residents鈥 interest in visiting Macau for a unique, trendy journey.鈥

Hong Kong pop stars and athletes help promote Macau

Hosted by popular emcee Kitty Yuen, the ceremony featured two members of Hong Kong鈥檚 well-known boy band Mirror, Jeremy Lee and Stanley Yau, singer Windy Zhan, and table tennis players Ng Wing Nam and Lee Ho Ching.

Jeremy and Stanley shared fun travel experiences in Macau, including popular attractions and dining recommendations, while Windy impressed the audience with her performance and introduced Macau鈥檚 arts, culture, and educational tourism offerings.

The table tennis players demonstrated a friendly match while highlighting Macau鈥檚 international sporting events.

Additionally, the roadshow featured several exhibition zones based on the theme, with a highlight being the 鈥淭rendy Fun Macau鈥 zone, which included a series of interactive games and physical challenges related to sea, land, and air activities in Macau and the 15th National Games.

The carnival also presented prize-winning quiz games and a 鈥淭our Macau with Vivian鈥 session. Along with her performance, Vivian Chan recommended various trendy and cultural attractions for young travelers to Macau.

Tourism operators offer special travel deals

As part of the roadshow activities, MGTO partnered with four Hong Kong travel agencies, including China Travel Service, EGL Tours, Wing On Travel, and KKday, to offer time-limited special deals on Macau travel products to enhance the destination鈥檚 appeal to Hong Kong residents.
