Government disburses nearly GHC9 Million feeding grant to special needs schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the disbursement of GHC8,989,866.00 as a feeding grant to support Special Needs Schools across the country.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, June 25, and signed by Daniel Fenyii, Head of Public Relations at GES, the Service described the payment as a significant milestone in advancing inclusive education in Ghana.

According to the statement, the grant is intended to cover the feeding needs of all learners enrolled in Special Needs institutions nationwide.

GES commended the Government of Ghana for its continued support for learners with special needs, stating that the funding demonstrates the government鈥檚 commitment to equity and quality education for all.

The Service also extended its appreciation to the heads, staff, and students of Special Schools for their patience and dedication during the grant processing period.

鈥淕ES remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to deliver inclusive education for every learner, regardless of ability,鈥 the statement concluded.

This latest disbursement underscores Ghana鈥檚 broader efforts to ensure that children with disabilities and special needs are not left behind in the pursuit of accessible and inclusive education.
