Ghaziabad To Get Township Near Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Land To Be Acquired From 8 Villages

In a positive development from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has taken a significant step forward with the proposed Harnandipuram township project. On Tuesday, officials announced that the GDA has commissioned a private consultant to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) to expedite the project near the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The DPR for Phase 1 is expected to be completed within the next two months.
Rudresh Shukla, GDA鈥檚 media coordinator, confirmed the selection of a private agency for this task, which has already begun work on the report. Earlier in April, the GDA had invited tenders for hiring a consultant, and the chosen agency has committed to delivering the report on time.
In parallel, the GDA has initiated the process of direct land purchase from farmers for the first phase of the township, which includes villages such as Mathurapur, Shamsher, Champat Nagar, Bhandara Khurd, and Nagla Firozpur Mohan. The authority aims to acquire land from a total of eight villages.
The proposed township, located near the Delhi-Meerut Road and the RRTS corridor, promises enhanced connectivity and modern amenities. Officials indicated that the township will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including easy access to the metro and RRTS, smart street lighting, and efficient power management.
Additionally, the GDA is planning a new elevated road to provide direct and improved connectivity for Harnandipuram township residents travelling to Delhi. This road will be modelled after the existing Hindon elevated road, which allows for signal-free travel from Karhera Rotary to UP-Gate. The new route will be developed behind Rajnagar Extension, facilitating direct access between Harnandipuram and Delhi.
